Robertson Bell is delighted to be partnering with a leading and well-respected housing association to recruit a Tax Accountant on a 12–15-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team at a pivotal moment, following the implementation of a new ERP system (Unit 4 Agresso).
Deliver accurate and timely VAT returns and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and manage partial exemption calculations.
Support the identification and resolution of manual processes, embedding improvements in the new ERP system.
Handle ad hoc tax queries across VAT and potentially corporate tax.
Collaborate with finance teams including group reporting, business partnering, AP, and AR.

Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong double-entry knowledge.
Experience: Significant VAT compliance experience, ideally including partial exemption. Strong background in preparing VAT returns and data analysis.
Sector: Social housing, not-for-profit, or public sector preferred but not essential. Private sector candidates welcome if open to a learning curve.
Systems: Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs) essential. Unit 4 Agresso experience highly desirable.
Attributes: Team player, proactive, values-driven, and eager to contribute meaningfully.
