Robertson Bell is excited to partner with a leading humanitarian organisation to recruit an International Financial Accountant (9 Month Fixed-Term Contract) for their Ukraine project. This nine-month contract role is pivotal to the organisation’s humanitarian efforts, which have expanded significantly since the conflict in Ukraine began. You’ll oversee six donor-funded projects, support programme managers with financial insights, and provide crucial assistance to the country finance team.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee financial management for six major projects, ensuring accurate budget management, reconciliations, and grant compliance.
  • Support programme managers with financial reporting and help drive informed decision-making.
  • Assist the country office finance team with transactional processing and monthly management accounting reports.
  • Manage salary allocations, prepare journals, and consolidate project financials.
  • Oversee transactions, including payroll, stock management, and cashbook reconciliations.

The successful candidate will benefit from a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, 28 days of annual leave, and an 8% employer pension contribution. The role also offers hybrid working arrangements, providing flexibility and balance, with one day per week based in the London office.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Accountant, part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with strong core financial accounting skills.
  • Have experience working with grants and restricted funding, within in the INGO sector.
  • Demonstrate expertise in preparing accounts and overseeing month-end processes.
  • Be skilled in transactional processing, salary allocations, and systems management, with the ability to adapt to complex funding environments.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to build strong relationships.
