Interim Year End Accountant - Social Housing (Remote or Office-based)

My client, a small to medium-sized social housing provider, is seeking an Interim Year-End Accountant on a six-month contract. This role requires a sector-experienced professional to ensure the successful delivery of statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the year-end accounting process to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts to maintain financial integrity.
• Producing statutory accounts in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Preparing audit working papers and supporting the audit process.
• Liaising directly with external auditors to address queries.
• Processing key month-end and year-end journals.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organisation in a pivotal period. Working closely with the finance team, you will ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in their year-end operations. The role can be remote or office based, negotiable for the right candidate.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in year-end accounting within the Housing sector.
• Strong technical skills in statutory reporting and audit preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to reconcile complex balance sheets and process journals efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with auditors.

The start date of this contract can flex to suit the ideal candidate, with early January to end of February being a reasonable window to starting the role. Candidates are being reviewed as applications are received.
