Robertson Bell are working with a Local Authority to recruit an Interim Senior Payroll Officer for a 3-6 month contract. The main responsibilities will be:

  • Assist and lead in end-to-end processes of the Council’s payroll operations.
  • Ensure each stage of the payroll process is executed efficiently, complying with statutory regulations and council policies.
  • Provide advice to staff on occupational pension schemes.
  • Support the Payroll Manager in running the payroll.
  • Ensure delivery of a high-quality, responsive, and efficient payroll service.

The role joins a high performing payroll team and has the potential to be extended. The council operate on a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of two days per week in the office.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced Payroll Officer.
  • Have worked in a local authority previously.
  • Have used Oracle Cloud.
