Robertson Bell are working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an Interim HRA Finance Business Partner. A fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with significant Housing Revenue Account (HRA) experience to join a reputable UK local authority on a temporary basis. The role involves overseeing financial strategies to ensure sustainable investments in housing and estates, supporting budget planning, and providing financial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Leading the preparation of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) annual statement of accounts and notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit requirements
- Managing the annual housing rent setting process and conducting reviews of tenants' service charges to ensure fairness and affordability
- Developing and maintaining financial models for rent setting, service charge reviews, and the HRA Business Plan to support strategic decision-making
- Supporting the council's financial strategy by contributing to the preparation of HRA budgets for the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) review
- Providing line management to a small team of 2
- Offering financial advice to senior stakeholders, presenting information on HRA financial matters to committees and forums as required
The position is for a minimum of six months with the potential to be extended further. The role also offers a hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidiate will:
- Have experience in supporting the preparation of HRA budgets for the council's annual Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS).
- Have demonstrable line management experience.
- Be able to provide robust and clear financial advice to senior stakeholders, presenting information on all financial matters relating to the HRA.
- Be a qualified accountant.
- Be immediately available or on a short notice period.
