Are you a skilled project manager with expertise in change management and a talent for driving cost-reduction initiatives? Can you navigate complex organisational challenges, lead sensitive conversations, and partner with stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes? Are you ready to play a critical role in a high-profile transformation programme?

A prestigious public sector organisation is seeking an Interim Project Manager to oversee a large-scale cost-saving initiative—a strategic transformation programme—on a 15-month contract. This ambitious programme aims to address financial pressures by coordinating 100+ cost-reduction actions across departments, including headcount reductions and office space optimisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the transformation programme by tracking and monitoring the progress of all cost-saving initiatives and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Overseeing HR and change management aspects, such as staff consultations, restructuring, and union negotiations, with sensitivity and confidence.
  • Optimising office space by transitioning to a hot-desking model and supporting efforts to lease unused areas.
  • Collaborating with department heads and stakeholders to identify and resolve roadblocks and ensure programme success.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative at a nationally recognised organisation. With a flexible work arrangement offers the chance to work between London and Yorkshire offices.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Significant project management expertise with a proven track record in large-scale transformation programmes or cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Strong people skills, with experience navigating sensitive conversations with unions and staff.
  • Expertise in change management and organisational restructuring.
  • A good understanding of finance and budgeting, even if not a qualified finance professional.
  • Confidence, resilience, and the ability to drive progress in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Ideally public sector experience, but this is by no means essential.

This is a priority hire, and applications will be reviewed as they are received. If you’re ready to take on this dynamic role and make a lasting impact, apply today!
