Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with a Local Authority to recruit an Interim Management Accountant to support their Housing Revenue Account (HRA) team. The position is for circa six months and offers hybrid working (3 days in the office and 2 days from home).
Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with the HRA Finance Manager, you will:
- Provide budget holders with financial insights, including monthly monitoring, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Support annual rent setting and tenants’ service charge reviews.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of HRA budgets and the annual update of the HRA Business Plan.
- Contribute to the preparation of the HRA annual statement of accounts, including audit queries.
- Perform reconciliations, such as bank and balance sheet checks, ensuring the integrity of balances.
- Support budget modelling for future service demands and legislative changes.
- Assist in reviewing the financial viability and value for money of housing development schemes.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in financial analysis, reconciliation, and budget preparation.
- Experience of either working in Local Government or the Social Housing Sector.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
- Be immediately available or on a short notice period.
