An East London not-for-profit organisation is seeking an Interim Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team on a 6-9 month fixed-term contract. This vital role will focus on updating the Fixed Asset Register in time for year-end and ensuring the accuracy of key reconciliations across the balance sheet, payroll, VAT, and bank accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Updating and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register in preparation for year-end.
  • Performing detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and bank transactions.
  • Completing payroll reconciliations and VAT adjustments.
  • Assisting with other core financial accounting tasks as required.

Joining a dedicated and collaborative finance team, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening the organisation’s financial position as they navigate an exciting period of change.

The ideal candidate will be an AAT-qualified or part-qualified accountant with a strong track record in financial accounting. You’ll bring excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring high standards in a fast-paced environment.

  • AAT qualification or part-qualified accountant with demonstrable financial accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Asset Registers, reconciliations, and VAT adjustments.
  • Ability to thrive in a not-for-profit environment undergoing transformation.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, along with an appreciation for the need to roll your sleeves up to work quickly and efficiently during a period of organisational upheaval.
