We are supporting this public sector organisation in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their dynamic and collaborative team on a permanent basis. You will play a vital role in ensuring financial compliance and delivering high-quality statutory reporting for a large and complex entity within a group structure.

The key duties of this Financial Accountant are as follows:

  • Lead the annual close-down and preparation of statutory accounts, including pension accounts and governance statements.
  • Manage and submit regulatory and statutory returns to ensure compliance with deadlines and accounting standards.
  • Supervise balance sheet reconciliations, treasury management reporting, and VAT submissions.
  • Provide expert advice on technical financial matters such as VAT, pensions, and tax issues.
  • Lead and develop a team of Finance Officers, driving performance and professional growth.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses and effective collaboration.
  • Maintain and review financial systems, coding structures, and accounting policies to meet organisational and statutory requirements.

  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification, or be in the final stages.

  • Experience working in a public sector environment.
