This permanent Financial Accountant role reports into the Senior Financial Accountant and will be responsible for ensuring strong financial controls are maintained at all times. This is the perfect opportunity for a proven Accountant now looking for a step up in their career.

Main responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will be:

  • Lead on the preparation of consolidated yearly financial statements.
  • Maintain the balance sheet and ensure the consistent review and improvement of internal controls.
  • Lead on accounting for investments and fixed assets.
  • Supervise a small team of Finance Assistants, delegating work and reviewing, ensuring staff have access to necessary support and training.
  • Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with implementing new financial controls and policies.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordinate the audit process acting as one of the main points of contact for the external auditors.
  • Ensure the organisation views finance as an approachable department.

This permanent Financial Accountant will be based at the organisations head office based in central London and can offer four days a week working from home. The organisation offers generous benefits including over 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays plus an employer pension contribution of over 14%.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant or finalist (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
  • Have strong technical accounting skills.
  • Be motivated to support and supervise a small team.
  • Have an appreciation for the public sector.
  • Have strong communication skills.
