For over 50 years, St Mungo’s has been at the forefront of efforts to tackle homelessness. With 17 outreach teams working across London and the south of England, the charity helps people who are sleeping rough to move away from the streets. Offering practical support through every step of their clients’ recovery from homelessness, St Mungo’s’ vision is for everyone to have a place they can call home.
Robertson Bell first worked with St Mungo’s in November 2019, and after fulfilling our initial assignment, we were added to the charity’s PSL. Over the next 10 months, we successfully placed candidates in the following posts.
Our most productive resource is often our candidate database of almost 100,000 professionals in the Public, Not-for-Profit and Commercial sectors – and for St Mungo’s this has been supported by extensive LinkedIn Recruiter activity and targeted advertising on carefully chosen jobs boards.
The assignments came with very tight deadlines, and thanks to Robertson Bell’s extensive resources, we have been able to assign a dedicated project team to accelerate recruitment, with our seasoned consultants leveraging their impressive connectivity on LinkedIn to create diverse shortlists. Consultants also invested significant time and effort to fully understanding the St Mungo’s culture which ultimatley lead to a successful outcome on each vacancy.
All campaign assets delivered strong response, resulting in high-quality shortlists for each role. Competing alongside a panel of recruiters, Robertson Bell has been able to consistently identify and engage high-calibre talent, as demonstrated by our impressive track-record of successful appointments.
Our close relationship with candidates means we have genuine insight into their personal attributes and ambitions, as well as their professional capabilities. And with cultural fit so important at St Mungo’s, we have been able to look beyond candidates’ technical expertise, presenting high-calibre finance professionals whom we know are well-aligned with team dynamics. The value of this approach is evidenced by the experience of the successful candidate for Assistant Financial Controller position, who despite not having the precise background requested, has since progressed to a permanent role.
