The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) is a non-ministerial government department that regulates and oversees the companies that operate the UK's gas and electricity networks.
Assignment
Robertson Bell worked with the organisation in November 2020 to place the newly created role of an Interim Finance Business Partner.
Considerations and challenges
- The challenge of filling a brand-new role pushed search parameters beyond traditional areas in order to identify and engage talent with appropriate skills and public sector experience.
- Ofgem had been undergoing a period of change, having re-structured its small finance team. Sourcing a candidate that was comfortable adapting to this change was crucial.

Solution
Robertson Bell worked closely with the Resourcing Manager at Ofgem to finalise the candidate profile for the role of Finance Business Partner, pinpointing the exact requirements of the role.
