Assignment

Robertson Bell has worked on six multi-agency recruitment campaigns for the following roles:

Considerations and challenges

  • Perceived lack of career development opportunities in the not-for-profit sector for ambitious, commercially astute finance professionals – particularly amongst the very highest calibre candidates, who are NSPCC’s target talent pool.
  • Remuneration for ACA-qualified professionals at the charity is typically well below private sector pay for similar roles.

Solution

The NSPCC’s strong brand enabled Robertson Bell to create a compelling EVP (employer value propostion) that proved highly effective in overcoming perceived negative preconceptions about charity sector career opportunities.

As the client had previously struggled to find strong candidates for the Financial Accounting & Control Manager position, we spent significant time with the FD in order to gain a deep understanding of their expectations, enabling us to create a campaign that was aligned with very specific requirements.

In addition to a deep database search and highly targeted advertising campaigns, our consultants spent enormous energy reaching out to their own networks, leveraging impressive connectivity to generate far-reaching word-of-mouth.

Having generated strong interest in the roles, we carried out rigorous first interviews and competency testing before handing over a high-calibre shortlist.

Outcome

Although Robertson Bell was competing against multiple agencies, we recruited the successful candidate for each position, and the client was able to appoint their first-choice candidate for all six roles.
